I love weather like this. Overcast, cool temps, moisture in the air. You would think that is late September but alas, it is only late July. The weather this year has been screwy, to say the least.
But that has not stopped me from thinking about racing cross and the season that I love most. Putting together the new ride (pics soon) and hearing about everyone else on the team also getting new rides (pics of their's soon also) has us thinking about training and what needs to be done at this point.
We are putting out a "request" for places to train and new faces to train with. We have a couple of courses already dialed in and ready to go. We have GP Betz over in Englewood. This is a great course (grass, some singletrack, stairs (lots of stairs) and hills). I have been speaking with the guys from Green Mountain Sports and they have a new course over in Golden by the kiddie prison. Should be a great place train on the westside of town and Lee and John have graciously invited us to train there also.
We were also thinking of trying to do a Wednesday Night ride starting from the REI downtown and riding over at Common's Park, which is across 15th St from the REI. Plenty of hills, grass and more stairs. From thier we can do some laps over at The Children's Museum.
We would like to start these up mid August. Since the location can change week to week, this should make it alot easier for everyone to make the rides and get in some good training before the season starts.
Let me know any thoughts that you might have on this and email them to me at yetirich at yahoo dot com
Thanks
