Damn, where did the time go. It seems like it was just 70 days a couple of weeks ago. Now that we are down to 14 days, I am a bit nervous. After being sick for the better part of 14 days and only on the bike once during that time, the miles are ALOT less than I wanted them to be. Those 20% grades are starting to worry me a bit.
As we were planning this adventure, we have decieded to sign up for the Ronde Cyclosportif race. It is a race since we payed an entry fee and you get a time. So Ron, Brian and I have signed up for the 150k version. We are cutting out the first 90k of roads from Brugge down to where we start in Ninove. We still will get in all 17 climbs along the way and each and everyone is going to hurt big time!
Now that we have an apartment to live in, we know where the BMC guys are staying and picked up a wayward traveller, Dave from Canada who is reader and cross loving kind of guy, is meeting up with us in Kortrijk, we have a full house at this point. Dave had some great recommendations of places to go and things to see besides the inside of a abbey, not that there is anything wrong with drinking beer with monks.
The bikes are turned up. New tires from Conti, upgraded parts from Sram, a new HP Mini 210 netbook for updating the blog and a couple of different cameras for showing the drunks in thier natural habitat, I think we are ready to go. We will be doing daily updates once we get over there. Brian got a Hero Go Pro video camera for all on bike action. I have a flip video camera for all off bike action and Ron is in charge of setting up all abbey tours.
If there is anything specific you want us to focus on and take pics or make up a story, let us know.
