On your mark, get set, GO

So after the CX Worlds party back in January, there has not been much going on in the local racing community.  Everyone doing base miles, ordering clothing and getting ready for their blue ribbon of participation of each road race and crit currently on the BRAC schedule.  The FMVC crew has been recruiting* new members and pulling ourselves out of the bottle that we have been drinking since the end of the season.

*recruiting - people asking us if they can race with us since we have good beer, laugh alot and heckle people with no regard of what their issue might be.

But while out on the chatty cathy ride on Saturday out to Golden we ran into our Glorious Leader and he passed on some info that makes all of us smile.  If you have seen/not seen on the calendar, there was a strange listing for Sept 8th about a cyclocross time trial.  Well, we are here to tell you all about it.

So with all the issues with call ups, pre reg and then dont get a call up, people that have already been upgraded and still being called and the mess that goes on for 10 minutes before each race is now being addressed.  BRAC, Alpha Bicycle Co, Dean Crandell and Tim Madden have all come up with a solution.

Sept 8th will be the day out at the Brighton cross course for you to show up, race your bike like you stole it and then wait to see what kind of time you have posted. Lap times will be in the 12 minute range for everyone.  There will be flyovers, stairs, hills to ride, hills to run.   Fast start, faster finish.  A true cross course that will have a bit of everything to it.  Course design by Chris Case, Boups and Adam Rachubinski  The one and only LG will be calling the action.  Race fee will be $15 bucks.  Bring your chip or spend more money.  First racer off at 10am.  This will probably be a pre-reg only event.  You will be assigned a time so dont miss it.  This will probably also be ran very similar to the KHTT Series.  You will be racing for time and other people from other classes will be out on the course with you.  There will be a product expo area.  First 10x10 space if free.  Bring your tent and enjoy the day.

It will be a giant party though.  Giveaways, free beer, music, free beer, hanging with old freinds, free beer and more free beer all day.  BRAC will also have some other interesting things:  fastest lap for each category, fastest time through the last 1k, fastest start, case of beer for the latern rouge finisher.

Even if your Subaru cant make it's way over to the venue, fear not.  You will still get a call up, albiet at the back of the group. Which in the BDDL there could be 125 guys in front of you.  It is in your best interest to show up then huh?  This will all be discussed at the promotors meeting this Saturday at the PBS building down in Denver.

So there you go kids.  Now you have a reason to start riding again.  Order your little sperm helmet, you skinsuit that is 1 size to small and get that big chainring ready to go.  Your call up destiny awaits you!!
