Ok...so I am hopeful that the heat has finally left our fair state for places south of here. What do I care if El Paso is hundred degrees and they race cross there? I dont, and I dont like the heat. I cant stress this enough. Sunday's race was the first of the campaign and it was a burner. 87 degrees at the start, close to 90 at the end and a whole lot of dust makes for not a fun race. Let's just say, I will have better days. How could it get any worse right?
With the annual pilgrimage out to Vegas for Interbike and CrossVegas for the last time, I have checked the temps for the couple of days we will be there and it is forcasted to be in the mid 90's there this week. Bastards. I hate the heat. But I do know that the racing will be red hot though. With a Francis Mourey winning 2 races up in Seattle, Tim Johnson takes 2 wins in VT and Hudz/Subaru rider Davide Frattini winning both days at Charm City, something has to give. It is called CrossVegas....126 men enter, 1 man leaves. This should be a great battle. You can follow the whole thing live, starting about 945p MST over at cxmagazine for the blow by blow action.
We will follow up with pics and our own stories, regardless if they are made up or not...Stay cool my friends!!
