Who's up for a pint this weekend?

Like all cycling teams, we seek out sponsors that would be a good fit for what you are trying to achieve.  From UCI Pro Tour teams with lot's of money and cars to the local level where getting free tubes or service is good enough.  Well, the FMVC team is good at drinking beers and brewing beers.  That is why we have one of the best sponsors a team could have with Wynkoop Brewing Co.

Each month they have guest beers on their taps in the pool room upstairs.  Here are some of the beers for the next couple of weeks:
This month we’re reaping the rewards of our recent expansion by releasing two new versions of Wynkoop Brewing Co. liquid art.
March 26 we begin serving Malt Madness, a special brown ale we brewed in honor of the 2012 NCAA Women’s Final Four taking place here in Denver, April 1-3.
Wynkoop has been selected by the NCAA to be one of four Denver establishments that will serve as home-away-from-home bases for the teams (and their fans) that win regional brackets in the 2012 NCAA women’s basketball tournament.
Wynkoop will host the team that wins the Raleigh, North Carolina regional.
Wynkoop brewer Brad Landman created the recipe for this three pointer of a brown ale. A showcase of various malts, the beer was built with Rahr two-row base malt, Munich, Aromatic, Biscuit, Crystal and Chocolate malts. It’s gently hopped with Fuggles hops and fermented with a British ale yeast.
Malt Madness is 4.8% ABV and features a full-court press of malt flavors in a fast-breaking, thirst-quenching beer. It's perfect for the historic occasion of the Women’s Final Four coming to D-town.
On March 30 at 5 PM, we’re hosting a party at Wynkoop to celebrate the release of a brand new fundraiser beer, Cottonwood Organic White.
An unfiltered, American-style wheat beer, Cottonwood Organic White is made with organic malts and wheat, kaffir lime leaf and organic agave nectar. The custom-made beer is fermented with an American strain of wheat beer yeast and is 4.6% ABV.
Designed for springtime quaffing, Cottonwood Organic White is a refreshing yet complex beer with a creamy body, bready malt and wheat flavors, restrained hops and citrus notes.
Wynkoop is donating fifty cents from the sale of each draft of the beer to Denver’s Cottonwood Institute, an environmental education nonprofit group that works with inner-city students and local schools in the Denver/Boulder area.
We are also donating the profits from special glasses and T-shirts bearing the beer’s logo, which was created by local design house AOR.
More details on the beer, the party and the Cottonwood Institute are on our homepage, www.wynkoop.com .
The last Sunday of each month the FMVC team ride leaves out of Wynkoop for a 2-3 hour spin and then enjoys the liquid art of beer. Ride leaves around 915am and everyone is welcome to join.

  1. Now THAT'S a way to choose a sponsor! Next time I'm in Colorado, I'll check out the Wynkoop Brewing Company for sure.

Oh, and beer does have a way of preventing writers block, doesn't it?
