Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen - who won?

Aussie Baden Cooke (Unibet) won the Kampioenschap van Vlaandern by sprinting home in from of Belgium Andy Cappelle (Landbouwkrediet-Tonissteiner) whom the locals wanted to win. They went home crying in thier Duvels.

We seem to have a problem with this outcome. We like Baden Cooke, but dude, it aint your race to win. We would be ok with the win if you even rode for a Belgium squad, but come on. This seems to be a disturbing trend in this race. Here is are the winners for the past 5 years:

2006 Nico Eeckhout (Bel)
2005 Sergey Lagutin (Uzb)
2004 Jimmy Casper (Fra)
2003 Baden Cooke (Aus)
2002 Jimmy Casper (Fra)

Either the dope is better in France, Australia and Uzbekistan...or we should quit holding this race. Be like the Americans, set the US Championships for US riders only now. There are enough riders from Vlaanderen that they can hand out a jersey to the winner, just like the one that Vermarc makes (another Belgium company) and let them duke it out.
