Bandido Races this Saturday

So, the time has come once again to shun racing in the bubble for the best cyclocross race in the state this weekend.

Bandido Cross is back and better than before.  Chewy has secured free beer and other swag for the race on Saturday down at his place in Parker.  Directions can be found here to Chewy's place

Here is the schedule for the afternoon.

1130am - show up at Chewy's place and bring your halloween costume with you.

1145am - course inspection.  This is a new rule that the ACA has been thinking about putting in but needed to wait until someone actually caused a wreck and took down one famous guy racing cross on the front range.

1200pm - Showtime!  We will be doing the usual 5-6 laps on a new course, with new tequilla shortcuts, water crossings and places where cheating is actually allowed on race day.  Bring you own water wings, walking on water shoes and EPO.

1pm - Feed time.  We will be BBQ'ing, drinking and heckling each other for the rest of the afternoon.

Couple of ground rules
1.  Bring the whole family.  There is a park and open space where the race is being held.  This is a family event and want everyone to have fun.
2.  Throw an elbow at your competitor just like at the real cross races but this wont get you sent to the penalty box and you will still have a race entry fee in your pocket at the end of the day.
3.  Enjoy the afternoon.  Even if you dont get the holeshot off the line, let's have fun.
4.  NO HEARTRATE MONITORS.  If we see them or hear them, they will be swimming with the algae in the creek.  Dont make us go all Charles Bronson of Death Wish on you.

Here is the best reason to come to Bandido Cross on Saturday.  This was posted by the reigning US National Champion of Cyclocross a couple of hours ago on her twitter feed.........

@: Wow, just checked out the Boulder courses for this weekend, can we say boring road racer courses?

  3. If you can't make it to Bandido, your life sucks. I'm glad I'm not you. But, my thoughts are with you during your troubling times.

Hey...unless you were originally scheduled to work on Saturday BEFORE the Bandido race announcement, you have no obligation to go to work. Everyone knows this. Don't be the sheep; be the border collie.
